Dan McKinnon
Writer/Artist
Dan writes the words that come out of the characters mouths and then draws their mouths and then draws the word balloons that hold the words that are coming out of those mouths.
Dan has an extensive history of working in art and design that started with a self-published comic book way back when he was 15 years-old. He wrote and drew half the 64-page book, sold the advertising and oversaw the production process at a local printing press.
This led to drawing editorial cartoons in a local paper, followed by page layout and graphic design for periodicals.
Finally, in 1989, the big break came from DC Comics that began a 5-year career working in comics that spanned 100 books for 11 different publishers.
Eventually the reality of the dream job had to give way to “real jobs” i.e. work that paid on time.
Nowadays, Dan works as a partner in High Concept Design & Media Services located in the beautiful Niagara Region of southern Ontario, Canada and has found an excuse to draw comics again.
Katie McKinnon
Writer/Colourist
Katie comes up with a bunch of the ideas that our little family of characters deals with during their adventures. She also is responsible for painting their world in full colour as our digital colour artist.
Katie has a diverse background that includes professional training and experience working as a makeup artist for film and television.
She has also worked as a marketing coordinator and content creator for technical training companies.
In 2007, Katie became a founding partner in High Concept Design & Media Services, a company that specializes in marketing and multimedia services.
In her role as a designer, Katie has designed hundreds of marketing pieces for print and web featuring the most high profile characters and properties from the biggest brands in all of the entertainment industry including Disney.
Like our main character, Katie is originally from Phoenix, Arizona and moved to Niagara to embrace the people and quality of life here. She also loves blood oranges.
